Senior Times :: Relish the Past. Manage the Present. Plan for the Future.

"Older Americans continue to work in a variety of jobs -- from teachers, to engineers, to business owners and entrepreneurs -- and in so doing bring invaluable experience and leadership skills. Additionally, their wisdom, strength and compassion reflect the character of our great nation."

- President George W. Bush (4/28/04)

Well, here you are. Let's face it, you rarely thought about growing older. You were too busy working, raising children, tending your gardens, and helping friends and family. Just because you weren't thinking about doesn't mean it wasn't happening. You were getting older while you were busy doing other things.

Now, it's happened... you're a "senior citizen". Believe me, you're not alone, and that is comforting - isn't it? According to the statistics in 2003 there were almost 36 million people age 65 and over living in the United States, accounting for just over 12 percent of the total population.

And this number will continue to grow. It is believed that there will be 86.7 million Americans aged 65 and over in the year 2050! This will be almost a quarter of the total population! (Source: Senior Journal)

As our voices grow stronger in number, the country will have to listen... to our experience, to our wisdom... to our collective force. As elders of our communities, we can be transmitters and keepers of the past and help lead the way into the future. That is what this website is about: being recognized as the strong, wise, powerful people we are - with so much to give. The sections of this site are organized in three main categories:
