"You must give some time to your fellow men. Even if it's a little thing, do something for others - something for which you get no pay but the privilege of doing it."

    - Albert Schweitzer

I remember reading about Dr. Schweitzer, who spent his life working in Africa. Dedicated to service, he tirelessly advocated for the health and well-being of the people in and around Lambarene, in Gabon, then a part of French Equatorial Africa. His dedication consumed all his life, and all his energies. Truly a remarkable man - but you are no less remarkable!

Your unique gifts are needed by your community, the nation and the world. Just think of all you've experienced, all you've learned... why keep all that to yourself?

Perhaps you loved children. Why not volunteer in a local school, as an aide or tutor? Maybe you'd rather spend your time in the local food bank, distributing much-needed food to the poor. What about your community church or hospital - both organizations have great need for exactly what you have to give!

Or, just maybe, you're ready for some adventure, and consider traveling to another country to share your talents and knowledge.

Every act of kindness ripples throughout the human community. It creates good will, and good feelings, spreading much more widely than you would think.

You've got the time. You've got the energy. You've got the heart. Now's the moment to make a difference in your community, and in so doing, change the world!
